School Rules is a series of ten oil paintings on wood; the images of these paintings, and a parallel story called First Grade have been incorporated into a digitally printed, handmade accordion book. All of the original paintings are 25x33cm. The handmade leporello book was digitally printed on Canson Mi-Teintes paper, in an edition of 20. The paintings were made in 2006-2008; the short story evolved separately and was completed around 2010; the book was completed in 2012.
