These visual and verbal meditations on the self are painted on used tin boxes that once held chocolates. With images and fragments of text (originating from known writers or from the artist), they suggest the trajectory of an individual lifetime, the conditions of solitude and sociality, and the limits of “our special way of holding our own in this world.”
